At our most recent Distribution Cluster meeting on October 22, we discussed the new Alabama law that will allow 18 year-olds to earn their Class A CDL. 

Senator Donnie Chesteen led the discussion of the new legislative act and the hopeful impact it will have on the trucking industry.  Alabama Trucking Association President, Mark Colson, gave an industry update and the importance of continuing to develop new pipelines, that new law will allow, and establishing clear career pathways for young people getting into the industry. Finally, Logan Hooks with NFP discussed the opportunities and challenges that may come with insuring younger drivers.
